the the year before they (PTO) spent about (this figure keeps changing) started at 10 or 12 grand last, i heard it was between 25 to 30 grand for 40 foot of awning and  30 feet of side walk

Use of Funds

Education is a labor-intensive enterprise, as reflected in the accompanying chart. Salaries for teachers, principals, and other educators are usually the largest expense in school districts. State and federal funds are generally allotted for specific purposes, services, or programs.

This graph shows the distribution of the expenses that are required to run the schools in your district on a day-to-day basis. Only school operating expenses are displayed here; for example, the percentage of a school district’s budget that is used to pay salaries and benefits to teachers and other staff members, the percentage of the district budget that is used to buy purchased services (such as professional development programs for teachers), and so on. Expenses that are related to building schools or maintaining them are under the category of “capital”expenses. Local school boards are responsible for proposing school district budgets, but County Commissioners are responsible for funding them. Using projections for schools’ expected expenses and the local, state and federal funds likely to be available to pay for those expenses, school boards allocate specific dollar amounts to each of the budget categories listed in this graph (salaries, benefits, supplies & materials, purchased services, equipment, other). The school board presents its budget, and any request it might make for an increase in school funding, to their County Commissioners. County Commissioners in North Carolina determine local school budget fund levels; they can fund the budgets as presented by the local school board, or they can adjust them according to the county’s overall needs and commitments.

Generally, state and federal education dollars are spent in specified areas or on specific programs since those funds are “earmarked” by requirements made through various laws. Local education funds are typically more flexible and are often tailored to the specific interests and needs of local schools and communities.

Notice where most of the money goes for our kids just 9% for some old books in the diff area that says there as old a 1988… got to out all this info in order but the jest off the tops looks like we pay some of these people way to much… Check this out also

Paying for School Construction & Renovations

The 5-year average for capital expenditures in this school district.

so in 5 years we gave and they spent damn near 8 million bucks , i’m not sure which schools all this was spent on cause the ones i know the parents are hit for 20 bucks here 40 bucks there…. Like a elem school in this area just pleased with the parents they needed a new play ground , and spent close to 50,000 on a Nothing really at.. all on the parents back . Asking them to send this and that and had levels on which if you gave XX amount your was bronze , sliver , gold and IF you gave 5000 grand i think you was a platinum giver.. Whom in this day and age has 5000 grand extra? Oh the year books for 50 no color add 20 bucks for that ..
